It’s that time again where we all want to know how our water is doing. According to the Town of Georgina website,
“Residents who obtain water from private wells (or Lake systems) are encouraged to take samples periodically to determine if their water is safe to drink. Sample bottles may be obtained at the Civic Centre and returned to the same location for testing by the Ministry of Health laboratory at no cost.”
As a courtesy, Water sample bottles/forms will be made available to Duclos Point Residents starting this weekend. Jackie McEachern/Prudential Renascent Realty has ordered several kits and you can pick up your test kits from The TULLER’s mailbox (#626 West side) starting this weekend.
Instructions for proper test-taking are included in the kit or for more information online, visit the York Region site at http://www.york.ca/Publications/News/2002/August+02,+2002,+Advice+to+residents+on+private+wells.htm . Kits must be kept cool (in fridge or on ice) and returned to the Civic Centre within 24 hrs of taking the sample and delivered on Tues/Thurs only. (maybe plan to stay up on a Monday?)
